Whether the movement is extremely athletic or the athleticism is in the process that comes before the choreography, i.e. the training of the body, I seek to create full-bodied movement that allows for the expression of a raw, intuitive, fully present self.
Athletic dance tethers the emotional and physical impact of human movement for both viewer and performer. Therefore the choreography denotes intensity in the exploration of physicality and connection of dancer to dancer and dancer to viewer.
Currently I am exploring the blending of my love for athleticism with the unique choreographic voice of Lyndsey Vader, co-director of Treeline Dance Works.
